A terrorist attack in Colorado has narrowly missed its intended target: African-American civil rights activists with the NAACP. An unidentified middle-aged man in a pickup truck left an explosive device next to a can of gasoline outside of NAACP offices in the city of Colorado Springs yesterday. The civil rights activists survived because the explosive device failed to ignite the gasoline as planned.

In related news, only 23 Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives voted against a leadership team that includes Steve Scalise, who has admitted seeking the political support of white supremacist neoNazis affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan. Scalise not only attended a conference of EURO, a KKK-affiliate organization, but met several times with David Duke, a former grand wizard of the KKK. The Scalise leadership team received the votes of 216 Republican members of Congress.

The position of GOP leadership in Congress has been that political cooperation with violent racist extremists is no big deal. Will they seek to cooperate with the racist terrorist of Colorado Springs as well?
